Justin Bakewell

With a focus on strategic planning and growth, Justin works closely with Pitcairn’s CEO to advance the firm’s Shared Single-Family Office™ model, which provides unparalleled service to wealthy families and single-family offices.

Prior to his current role, Justin co-owned Brightside Partners, a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) acquired by Pitcairn in 2025. He also has had leadership roles at JP Morgan, where he spearheaded the private bank’s expansion into Baltimore, Maryland; and at firms such as Brown Advisory and Bernstein Global Wealth Management. Earlier in his career, Justin served in the US Marine Corps for eight years, gaining valuable experience and perspective.

Washington Business Journal has recognized Justin as a “40 Under 40” honoree for his contributions to the community and his profession. Passionate about education, he serves as trustee and treasurer for Rocketship Education—DC, an elementary school network dedicated to supporting children in challenging environments. He has also served on the boards or board of advisors of organizations such as Teach for America—DC, the George Washington University School of Business, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Waterfront Partnership—Baltimore, and the Young Marines National Foundation.

Justin holds an MBA from George Washington University, a graduate certificate in taxation from American University’s Kogod School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Maryland at College Park.

In his free time, he enjoys discovering new restaurants with his wife, tackling home improvement projects, and spending time outdoors with his family. He’s an avid skier, beachgoer, football fan, and all-around enthusiast for active living.
